Beautiful! LC was really an accomplished poet also as a musician. The reason is that his words are very beautiful and I just cannot completey sympathize them but I'll try. In Hallelujah he seems to be saying that despite all the frailities and faults in his character at that place have been proficient and decent things in his life that would delight whoever his higher power might be. The modest fall and major elevator may mean that human mistakes are small displeasures to his college ability but recovery from and repair of these faults are non merely very difficult compared with the ease of the transgression but would too be a major uplifit to his higher power. That is just ane of the symbols in this poem. It is surprizing that there is and so much symbolism in these few, elementary verses. more »
